about

This song is built around the unique sound of the "Prophet" synthesizer, that was the latest, greatest keyboard available at the time of this recording. Dale Ocherman does wonderful job of keeping the song
chugging along.
Not long after this, Dale joined the super-group The Doobie Brothers, and recorded 10 albums with them. What a talent.

lyrics

Sandy

Sandy send me a letter,
I understand what you’re going through
Send it, the sooner the better
It’s been so long since I talked to you

You know so much has happened to me since that time,
Been on my mind
No words can explain the change I feel inside,
though I’ve tried

Sandy, send me a letter,
tell me you know what I said is true
Sandy, you know I’ll feel better
to know that the same thing has happened to you

I’ve been prayin’ so hard
For your eyes to see
So make your plans for a new start
And soon you’ll be free

It really doesn’t matter if the sun don’t shine, all the time
Rain can keep on fallin’ with Him by your side
You’ll be fine

I’ve been prayin’ so hard
For your eyes to see
So make your plans for a new start
And soon you’ll be free Sandy…Sandy

Sandy…Oh, Sandy
Oh, Oh, Oh, Sandy
Sandy…Sandy
